Green bars are individual studies, details and sources below. Studies differ in age, region and method, so they rarely match the compiled figure exactly.
Aggregated country figures mix studies with different measurement methods, and self-reported values tend to run high. The clinical standard is the bone-pressed technique used by the Veale et al. 2015 meta-analysis. See how we measure for the exact protocol.
Data quality
- Source: Compiled from public aggregators (e.g. WorldData.info) — not a controlled national study.
- Sample type: Unknown for this country; the underlying sources mix clinician-measured studies and self-reported surveys (self-reports skew high).
- Reliability: Low–moderate — plausible range, but still an aggregated estimate, not a clinical measurement.
For context, the clinical global baseline (Veale et al. 2015, n = 15,521, clinician-measured): 13.12 cm length (SD 1.66), 11.66 cm girth (SD 1.10).
